One of the most difficult jobs for any school year is to set up classes. Teachers and I spend many hours working on the classes to ensure a balanced class for each teacher in each grade. All classes in Transitional Kindergarten through fifth grade are built with an overall ratio of 27 students to 1 teacher. There are many factors that must be considered in setting up a new class and below are some of the most important ones
If your child is placed in a combination class next year, I would like to take this opportunity to talk about these placements now, so that there will be fewer surprises in the fall. It is my intent to offer some insight and explanation into how combination classes are formed and what you can do to best prepare your child for a positive school experience while in the combination class setting.
